Accommodation of Australia

Alumni and former Fellows are entitled to stay in College guest rooms (subject to availability, of course). Those who graduated in the previous 12 months and are Scholars (earned a First class in their final year) may stay for up to four nights in the year (consecutively or spread over a number of visits) at College expense -- your Scholarship entitlement -- and may stay for additional nights at their own expense. Other graduates and alumni from earlier years may book accommodation at their own expense. Past Fellows will have been notified of their entitlements by the Registrar (please contact registrar@chu.cam.ac.uk if you are uncertain).
Accommodation includes a continental breakfast, served from 8am Monday to Saturday and from 9am on Sundays. College has refurbished a number of rooms for wheelchair users; please state any accessability or special dietary requirements when requesting accommodation so we can prepare suitably for your arrival.
Accommodation can be requested by using the Accommodation Request Form. Remember that submitting the form does not constitute a booking; you will be contacted by the Accommodation Office to confirm availability.

Accommodation

Accommodation in Cambridge is easy to find.
Unfortunately, it is not as easy to find good accommodation (see picture): Booming house prices and a large student contingency in town make good cheap accommodation a rare find - It is likely that you will have to accept some degree of compromise.
The factors that will likely limit your accommodation options are the time you intend to spend in Cambridge, your budget, and whether you are coming here by yourself or with a partner or family. You may consider other factors such as commute time (see transportation).
If you are coming to Cambridge with your partner or family, consider travelling separately: It will be easier and probably less traumatic if you can travel ahead of your partner/family (staying in temporary accommodation) to find suitable accommodation for all of you. They can join you once suitable accommodation has been arranged. Give it a month at least to find something nice. You'll be spending at least 700-800 pounds per month for a two bedroom flat, depending on the area.
If you are coming to Cambridge on your own, consider renting a shared property, as these are significantly cheaper (they range between 250 - 500 pounds per month). Student accommodation may also be possible but would likely not be found at any of the Colleges. Some colleges offer accommodation to fellows: see fellowships in the funding section for details.

Accommodation
All rates are per room, per night excluding breakfast , if you do require a breakfast it would be served between 8-9 am , Please arrange this time when checking in otherwise ,mon-sat 9-11am sun 9-10 am at a cost of just £3-30 for the standard breakfast, a full breakfast menu is available ! a. 10% discount offered on all our main meals for all our staying guests.
Currently there are no en-suite rooms, facilites include a shower room with toilet, 2 other seperate toilets, and a bathroom with shower.
There is a seperate entrance to the B&B rooms. During your stay, arrangements can be made for out of hours access.
All rooms have colour Flat screen TV,s tea & coffee making facilities. There is a strict NO SMOKING policy in all our rooms on the accommodation level.

Accommodation
Several Types of accommodation are on offer:
Host Family accommodation
We feel all students should spend at least a few weeks with an Irish family upon arrival... it is probably the nicest introduction to a new country. All students have a private room in a lovely home with a warm, caring Irish family. Wherever possible we match students to families based on mutual interests. Our families are known to us personally and most have worked with us for many years. All are inspected annually. We are proud of the welcome our families accord our students.
Our families live in a suburb of Limerick, just a 10 minute bus ride from the centre.
Student Apartment Accommodation
Based just across the river from the city centre (about a 10 min walk). You will have a private room with a private shower, sink and toilet in a comfortable, modern apartment. Some apartments have 3 bedrooms, others 4 and 5 bedrooms. All apartments have a cosy living room and up to date kitchen. Apartments are shared, typically, with other foreign students (from our centre or foreign students attending the various colleges and universities in Limerick) or with Irish students.
Bed and Breakfast Guesthouses
Ireland offers a unique type of accommodation called a B&B. It is a family home but run like a small hotel. The only meal available is breakfast (a big one!) and there are no cooking facilities. A few B&Bs are located in the city centre, others are situated just outside the centre, about a 15 or 20 minute walk to the school. Prices on request.

There are many hotels in and around Limerick City. Categories range from 2 Star to 5 Star. Prices on request.

Accommodation One large Room.
Perfect for a couple but can take 3 people
Don't automatically think that the riverside is better. Some couples are completely hooked on this one! Its spacious and large with on suite shower & loo. Its beside the garden & pool. Its has a garden leafy feel and is very romantic and you get the sunset over the glen with some view of the sea. Perfect for couples. We can put an extra bed in. It has a very mellow little veranda and near the river. A very natural feeling and lots of trees and green gives privacy! Perfect for couples. Hammock on patio.
